Chargers crush the 49ers 34-7 as V-Jax scores three TDs

vincent jackson The San Diego Chargers continue to roll in the NFL, improving to 8-6 after trouncing the San Francisco 49ers with the score of 34 to 7 Thursday night, thanks in large part to the return and emergence of their superstar WR Vincent Jackson. V-Jax caught 5 passes for a total of 112 yards, including three Touchdowns for the Chargers (accounting for all three of Philip Rivers’ TDs for the night). He also just missed a fourth TD in the back endzone, failing to get his second foot in-bounds after the catch.

San Diego’s Defense was relentless, giving up only a single rushing TD to Brian Westbrook the entire game. Alex Smith had plenty of close opportunities, including a 1st quarter Red Zone visit where they ran it on 4th-and-1, getting stuffed by Brandon Siler.

Chargers shut out the Chiefs, 31 to nothing

malcom floyd The San Diego Chargers came out to play this Sunday and they were not messing around. The Bolts trounced the Kansas City Chiefs to the tune of a 31-0 victory. Aren’t we glad to have Malcom Floyd back and healthy at Wide Receiver… Floyd torched the Chiefs secondary for two aerial TDs along with a nice performance from both running backs, Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert, who each rushed for 65 yards and a Touchdown.

Kansas City was without their star quarterback Matt Cassel and started backup QB Brody Croyle, who had 7 completions out of 17 attempts . Just after signing a $32.5 million deal, Kansas City’s superstar runner Jamaal Charles was held to just 40 yards on 10 carries.

Gates catches only TD as Chargers fall to Raiders 28-13

antonio gates The San Diego Chargers lost this Sunday to theĀ  home state rival Oakland Raiders with the score of 28-13. Antonio Gates scored the only touchdown for the Chargers, a 4-yard snag wide open on an over route in the end zone. Nate Kaeding added two field goals and an extra point for the Bolts.

The Raiders had a great performance from RB Darren McFadden, who ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers stout run defense. The San Diego Chargers fall to 6-6 with the loss as the Raiders improve to the same 6-6 record. Gates’ touchdown is his 10th of the season, leading all Tight Ends in the NFL.
